Enroute to Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island – my first “overseas” flight

I started this blog in 2015 after obtaining my private pilot licence. The idea is to record our experiences as I improve my aviating skills and gain more experience and fly to interesting destinations around Australia (and elsewhere). One aim is to provide information on various places we fly to so we can share them with other general aviation pilots and friends and family and hopefully inspire others to do likewise. A private pilot licence allows you to travel to far flung destinations all around Australia. Flying really is the best way to explore this great land of ours. Sure there are cheap flights to get to the capital cities and key tourist resorts but what about the places that are off the beaten track and that you’d need weeks to get to by road? My aim is to fly there in comfort and safety and open up the vastness of Australia to family and friends around the world.
